Description: Our Client, one of the best children's hospitals in the US, is looking for an Advanced Oncology Business Informaticist in San Francisco, CA. Full-time benefits, relocation assistance, interview travel reimbursement available.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage key components of Cancer Services decision support;
• Oversee the collaborative process whereby they assess inpatient and outpatient case volumes, budgets, other performance indicators;
• Be responsible for extracting data from the Epic electronic health record, Vizient, the data warehouse, cancer registry, Press Ganey and any other sources for clinical, quality and research needs, creating data reports and dashboards and helping with their analysis;
• Partner with key Cancer Center clinical and business personnel and leadership on project teams to identify appropriate analytic objectives and solutions;
• Serve on internal committees and participates on cross-functional teams to solve business or systems issues;
• Communicate findings of analyses and insights verbally, visually and in writing to internal and external audiences;
• Develop and maintain a strong, positive working relationship with staff and clinical departments;
• Establish and maintain relevant data systems;
• Consult with department leaders and process owners to gather and clarify data and reporting requirements for highly-complex business intelligence solutions and analytics;
• Serve as consultant for advanced analytics and business intelligence best practices for service, performance, and documentation;
• Write queries, develops datasets and reports, and produces analyses, and recommendations to support and enhance business and clinical processes;
• Conduct on-going analyses of database functionality and capability;
• Develop sophisticated SQL (structured query language) queries for ad hoc and ongoing report requests;
• Identify opportunities to develop forecasts and other statistical modeling to transform clinical and business flow;
• Analyze and troubleshoot highly-complex data errors and problems, designing, testing, and applying advanced functional solutions;
• Serve on committees and participates on cross-functional teams to solve complex business, process, service and / or systems issues.
Requirements:
• Experience in business intelligence reporting, data mining, data analysis, and/or statist (3-5 years);
• Experience with Cancer service line operations;
• Experience with business intelligence functions, advanced analytics and industry standards and best practices;
• Experience with SAP Crystal Reports;
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server;
• Experience developing sophisticated SQL queries for ad hoc and ongoing report requests;
• Experience with relevant internal databases, BI applications and tools, such as Epic’s Clarity and Clinical Data Warehouse;
• Bachelor’s degree (required).
