Description: Our Client, one of the world’s largest food companies, is hiring a Tax Manager in Springdale, AR.

Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for the managing of day-to-day activities related to state income and franchise tax audits and compliance as well as annual reports;
• Ensure timely and accurate compliance with applicable state laws and regulations and other planning and related projects;
• Report directly to an Income Tax Director and supervise and develop Tax Accountants and Sr. Tax Accountants across the Income Tax group depending on the project;
• Participate in and support federal income tax compliance and related projects;
• Work directly with state taxing jurisdictions to resolve audit controversy issues;
• Monitor on a day-to-day basis state income tax activities such as tax law changes court case results etc;
• Advise management develop responses and assure compliance;
• Assist with quarterly calculation of the group’s state effective income tax rate cash flow projections and tax accounting and reporting;
• Manage projects of varying size and complexity; and any other duties that may arise.

Requirements:

• Experience in federal and state tax laws and accounting;
• Experience in the field of corporation income taxation or related fields (6+ years);
• Experience managing state audits (strongly preferred);
• Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm (preferred);
• Experience in technical research using RIA Checkpoint BNA or other tax research tools and the ability to learn and become proficient in tax software such as Corptax or OneSource;
• SAP knowledge and experience (preferred);
• CPA designation (preferred);
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting.
