Description: Our Client, a leader in healthcare and community health programs, is hiring a Sterile Processing Manager in South Bend, IN.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the sterile preparation, distribution and storage of surgical supplies and equipment;
• Manage, organize and administer assigned associates and department resources and processes;
• Ensure smooth interaction between Sterile Processing, Surgery and other departments;
• Ensure optimal sterile processing performance; through quality control and quality assurance of all Sterile Processing activities and equipment;
• Monitor and report equipment operational status. Recommend equipment changes, upgrades and additions to meet manufacturers' instructions for use (IFU) for all items processed;
• Assure departmental standards of operation and policies are in compliance with regulatory and professional agencies, including but not limited to CMS, TCJ, AAMI, AORN, APIC;
• Become Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) within 18 months of hire.

Requirements:

• Experience in an acute care Level 1 or Level 2 trauma hospital (5-10 years);
• Experience in Central Sterile Process management (decontamination, preparation, sterilization, packaging and distribution of sterile and non-sterile surgical supplies, equipment and instruments for the Sterile Processing Department) (3+ years);
• Supervisory experience in a union environment (1+ year, preferred);
• Supply Management experience (preferred);
• Lean or 5S experience (preferred);
• Joint Commission survey experience (preferred);
• Current Sterile Processing Technician certification (CRCST) from International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAAHCSMM) or CSPDT from Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) (required);
• Certification in Sterile Processing Management (CSPM) or Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) (preferred);
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Health Sciences (required).
